Your new company
Desian Education are proud to be supporting a Warrington-based SEN school that is easily accessible via public transport as they require a reliable teaching assistant to join their team on a full-time temporary basis. This position will last the remainder of the academic year subject to funding where you will be supporting a pupil with SEMH on a 1:1 basis.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school you will be supporting a year 5 pupil with SEMH on a 1:1 basis. This pupil is extremely loving but due to significant trauma in early life they have struggled to integrated into the school and starting to withdraw. You will build a strong constructive relationship with them by taking a true interest in them, advocating and listening to their needs. You will implement an array of positive behaviour strategies to promote their engagement as well as build self-esteem. You will also lead on 1:1 ELSA support.
What you’ll need to succeed
* Full “Right to Work” in the UK
* Experience supporting SEMH and using trauma-informed delivery methods
* Relevant referenceable classroom experience
* Be willing to undergo an Enhanced Children’s DBS check
