Elevation Recruitment Group are working exclusively on the appointment of an Operations Director for a well-established food manufacturing business. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role will take full responsibility for manufacturing and supply chain operations across the UK, ensuring products are produced and delivered in full, on time, and to the highest food safety and quality standards.
As Operations Director you will lead the strategy and execution of food manufacturing and supply chain operations. You will be accountable for operational costs, efficiency, customer satisfaction and compliance across a complex, seasonal FMCG product portfolio. This is a pivotal leadership role, working closely with the board to support growth, innovation and future investment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Setting and delivering the operations strategy to drive efficiency, customer service and food quality standards
* Ownership of the operations budget, forecasting and cost reduction initiatives
* Leading food manufacturing, warehousing, supply chain and production planning activity
* Driving continuous improvement, Lean initiatives and sustainability targets across all sites
* Developing business continuity and risk management plans to ensure resilience
* Managing stakeholder reporting to board and investors, ensuring clear visibility of performance
* Building and developing a high performing operations leadership team
We are looking for an experienced operations leader with a proven track record in food manufacturing or FMCG. You must be able to demonstrate:
* Previous experience as an Operations Director or Senior Operations leader within the food or FMCG sector
* Full accountability for budgets, forecasting and cost control in a multi-site or high-volume food manufacturing environment
* Strong knowledge of food supply chain, manufacturing processes and distribution networks
* Experience of implementing ERP and technology-led transformation projects within manufacturing
* A background in Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodology
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to engage and develop teams at all levels
* Strong understanding of compliance, food safety standards, health and safety and quality assurance in a regulated environment
