SCAS (Social Communication Assessment) Team Coordinator

The closing date is 08 December 2025

This exciting one-day per week post as MOSAIC SCAS (Social Communication Assessment Service) Coordinator is an ideal opportunity for a clinician who is, or has been, working in a neurodevelopmental diagnostic team and would like the develop their skills in team management and service development. The post is an opportunity for a secondment or increase in existing hours for an SLT, CAMHS clinician, OT or professional with other suitable experience.


Main duties of the job

Job purpose:

To coordinate a high-quality autism and ADHD assessment service for Children Young People & Families registered with a GP in Camden, ensuring equitable service provision. To provide a visible professional presence that service users, staff and other professionals can access for assistance, advice and support.


About us

MOSAIC SCAS sits within the Camden Integrated Childrens Service - a partnership of several trusts working together to support children, young people and families with additional needs. You will be based at Kentish Town Health Centre within the exciting borough of Camden, London. The role will include working in partnership with the NCL NDD transformation team and help to align all NCL boroughs to the optimal diagnostic pathways.

SCAS is a friendly, dynamic and team-orientated multi-disciplinary service with a wealth of experience and highly motivated staff. We are keen to create a safe, thoughtful and clinically strong optimal patient experience.


Job responsibilities

Job Summary:

To provide coordination and operational management of SCAS including responsibility for the day to day service delivery.

To act as a role model forSCAS staff, facilitating and supporting the delivery of effective patient care.

To develop partnership opportunities and joint working with clinical and non-clinical professionals, and liaise with other agencies as appropriate.

To lead SCAS in service improvements and developments.


Person Specification


Professional Qualifications

* Professional qualification in one of the core clinical professional groups relevant to SCAS such as Clinical Psychology; Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, teaching etc
* Post graduate further training in neurodiversity/ neurodevelopmental conditions
* Membership of appropriate professional body e.g. HCPC
* Evidence of continuing Professional Development


Experience

* Experience of working in an MDT assessment service
* Able to demonstrate high level of personal professional autonomy and accountability
* Ability to influence service development and delivery
* Leading on Audit programs and implementing change.
* Dealing with complaints
* Knowledge of SystmOne
* Staff recruitment


Knowledge

* Autism and ADHD assessment and support
* Clinical governance and its impact on clinical practice
* An understanding of the role of training/education and Personal Development Plans
* An understanding of NHS Policies and their implication for the SCAS Service
* Ability to demonstrate strategic vision
* Demonstrate an involvement in research and evidence based care
* Understanding of financial management

* Ability to respond effectively to unpredictable situations

* Facilitating change management
* Report writing skills
* Verbal and written communication
