BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Social Sustainability Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Social Sustainability the post will be covering projects across the North East region. The role will involve a mixture of working from our offices in Leeds or Newcastle, from home and on project sites across the North East.
Your work will enable the delivery of Social Mobility activity (employment, education and training), Foundational Economy activity (investment in social business and the local economy and volunteering) and Social Inclusion activity (community support and EDI training). You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, to plan, promote, deliver, monitor and report on BAM's social sustainability.
Making Possible
• Ensure a high level of understanding of Social Sustainability, communicates the importance and activity influences internal and external stakeholders
• Raising awareness and creating opportunities through collaborative relationships with clients, partnerships, BAM staff and supply chain
• Develop and deliver events and represent BAM on a project, regional and divisional basis
• Lead the formation and implementation of social sustainability plans, setting targets that align with the National TOMs criteria as well as client expectations/contractual requirements
• Identify and manage strategic and collaborative relationships to enhance reputation, reduce risks and enhance opportunities for social impact
• Create and maintain strategic partnerships and relationships with education establishments, training providers, industry bodies and community organisations that help support our projects, targets, and overall business strategy
• Set performance and contractual targets and effectively communicate with colleagues and supply chain/supplier partners to support their business social value maturity
• Support regional and strategic work winning and tendering by delivering bid support(including writing tender responses) to the region and wider UK business
• Record and report on all social impact related activities and targets, managing reporting deadlines and client expectations as well as meeting divisional and group reporting requirements

What do you bring to the role?
• Previous experience in a similar role, with comprehensive knowledge of social value and social sustainability principles and performance measurement and reporting
• Demonstrates a track record of leading in a team environment, with management capabilities and
experience
• Experienced in stakeholder management/community engagement and managing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
• Champions Diversity and Inclusion related to social value and stakeholder management
• Ideally a degree level qualification or equivalent
• Knowledge and experience in National TOMs and has expertise in using tools and techniques to assess social value outputs, impact and outcomes
• Experience of writing tender responses and supporting tender submissions
• Be highly competent in MS Suite – especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Self-motivated and flexible to manage own diary and tasks
• Enthusiasm and ability to inspire, influence and engage a broad cross section of stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly throughout the region
