Business Development Manager (Technical Engineering Background) - ICP / Utilities - Durham - £45k to £65k OTE (Bonus + Car)


Role: Business Development Manager

Location: Durham (3x Days Per Week), UK (with national travel for client/site visits)

Salary & Package: £45k to £65k OTE (Bonus + Car)


Overview

This role is designed for an individual with a strong engineering foundation - such as a background in sales engineering, commissioning, project engineering, or project management - who is ready to transition into the commercial side of the business. It offers the opportunity to apply technical knowledge to drive business growth, influence large-scale projects, and play a pivotal role in developing new client relationships across industrial, infrastructure, renewable energy, and EV charging sectors.


Key Responsibilities

1. Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across the UK, particularly in high-value schemes exceeding £1m.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
3. Manage and nurture existing client accounts to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.
4. Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums.
