Lead CAD Closures Engineer
The CAD Engineer for this role should demonstrate relevant engineering experience, particularly in module area systems design and development from concept to production.
Requirements:
* Proficiency in CAD operations, with the ability to create and manipulate geometry to communicate concepts and schemes effectively (approximately 90% time utilization for geometry).
* High technical competence in Catia v5/v6, especially in 3D geometry and sectional data, including key modules like Part Design and Geometric Surface Design.
* Experience with TCUA (Team Centre) and PLM systems is preferable.
* Engineering experience in delivering module systems within the automotive sector or similar industries.
* Ability to manage and resolve engineering issues and to work effectively with cross-functional teams, understanding the needs of different client groups.
* Adherence to company procedures and quality standards, with involvement in process improvements.
* Strong motivation, logical reasoning, numeracy, literacy, organizational, and communication skills.
* A drive to improve processes to enhance customer satisfaction.
Main Activities:
* Support the Chief Engineer in all daily activities related to engineering BOM development, cost and weight management.
* Part identification in BOM for unique or carryover status (PMXU).
* Create and maintain DFMEA and DVP documents.
* Conduct feasibility checks for surface designs (CAS) and provide guidance.
* Participate in cross-functional reviews for components and systems, focusing on technical application, form, function, and harmonization.
* Develop timing plans and scope-of-work documents with key deliverables.
* Drive issue resolution and analyze impacts on cost, weight, and timing.
* Support module deliverables through to gateway approval.
* Develop engineering and quality systems, benchmark competitor vehicles, and report findings.
* Support the development of design rules and guidelines.
* Deliver engineering projects for both the parent company and third-party customers.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Package, Analysis, Manufacturing, DVA) to ensure a first-time right release.
* Lead the development of 3D and 2D models for closure and mechanism engineering, including data storage and release into TCUA and PLM.
* Support automation in CAD, including Multi Model Link Networks and standardization of kinematic models in Catia.
