About The Post

This is an exciting opportunity to join Barnsley’s new Intensive Prevention Team as a Business Support Officer. T he Intensive Prevention Team (IPT) work with children aged 10-18yrs, who are at risk of becoming Looked After by the Local Authority. However, flexibility is required as you may offer Business Support to other areas of the council also.
As a Business Support Officer, you will support and contribute towards the work of a range of statutory and strategic boards and sub groups through provision of an effective technical business support service.
You Will
* Facilitation of a range of meetings, including arranging/scheduling within timelines, inviting all stakeholders, agenda setting, minute taking, collating reports, forward planning, tracking outcomes etc.
* Support with setting up and maintaining trackers to monitor practice where determined.
* Full Panel/Meeting support (arranging, scheduling, minutes, trackers, forward planning)
* Typing, inputting onto the Children’s Social Care database (Mosaic)
* Management support to Service Managers/Heads of Service within Children’s Social Care.
What You Will Need
* Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant area
* Commitment to progress to Level 4 qualification as part of continuous personal development
* Experience of working within a business support environment.
* Considerable experience of working with highly confidential and sensitive information
* Considerable experience of accurately recording proceedings in complex forums, including multi agency settings, directly inputting onto keyboards at speed
* Experience of establishing business systems, processes and procedures to increase efficiency
* Experience of managing a diverse and challenging workload
