Overview
Clerical Co-ordinator - Acute Medicine role at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. This is a full-time, permanent position in Acute Medicine, providing administrative support across reception areas, rotating through units including SDEC, AAU and Charnley.
The post is shift-based to cover a 24/7 service and will include some unsocial hours, including weekends and bank holidays on a rolling rota. Full training will be provided; prior experience is not required, but well-rounded IT skills and/or customer service experience are advantageous.
Main duties of the job
* Registration of patients visiting the unit
* Maintaining patient records
* Filing in accordance with department and Trust procedures
* Booking clinic appointments
* Outing clinic appointments
* Supporting clinical staff administratively
* Answering telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries
* Data entry
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Qualifications Desirable: GCSE Maths & English Grade C or above or equivalent; NVQ Level 3 in Administration.
Experience Desirable: Customer service experience; previous experience in a similar role; previous NHS experience.
Skills and knowledge Essential: Knowledge of/exposure to data protection and confidentiality; Excellent communication skills. Desirable: Confident IT user.
Personal qualities Essential: Able to adapt quickly to new working environments; able to work well autonomously and as part of a team; self-motivated. Desirable: Open to additional training/development.
