Job Overview
We are seeking a Dietetic Assistant to join our team of 36 paediatric dietitians and three other assistants. This office‑based role supports the dietetic department in all aspects of clinical and administrative work, enabling our team to provide high‑quality nutrition care to children.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a link between dietitians, patients requiring dietary modification, RMCH nurses, the special feeds unit and the catering service.
* Assist dietitians in creating resources, conducting literature searches, undertaking audits, and producing reports.
* Input detailed information into databases, maintain stocks of nutritional products and extract information from electronic medical records.
* Measure height and weight for children attending clinics and conduct patient/carer experience surveys.
* Support the special feeds unit in preparing modified feeds.
* Work collaboratively with other assistants, building upon your interest in food and nutrition and interpersonal skills.
* Maintain computer literacy and independently create and manipulate databases and spreadsheets.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Previous experience of working in the NHS is desirable.
* Experience working with children is required.
