Academics is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work on a temporary basis within a welcoming mainstream primary school in the Barry area. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to a Year 2 child with ASD and ADHD, helping them access learning and thrive within the classroom environment.
The Role
Full-time, Monday to Friday
1:1 support for a child with ALN in a mainstream Year 2 class
Supporting emotional regulation, engagement, and access to the full curriculum
Working closely with the class teacher and ALNCo to deliver tailored support
Starting as soon as possible
Pay Rate
£13.68 - £15.00 per hour, including holiday pay,
with the higher rate dependent upon experience, training, qualifications, and the client rate available.
Minimum Requirements
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant OR experience supporting children with ALN/SEN
Understanding of ASD/ADHD is highly beneficial
Strong communication skills and a calm, encouraging nature
Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider school team
