About the Company
I am recruiting directly for the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), and I am searching for a motivated Project Engineer to lead a multi-disciplinary team as we deliver Sizewell C—a ground-breaking 3.2-gigawatt power station providing low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the UK's energy future for generations to come. As part of the CWA, you will work alongside experts from Sizewell C, Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics, and Laing O'Rourke. You'll play a key role in a collaborative, innovative environment, where diverse ideas and backgrounds drive our success.
Responsibilities
* Provide management, leadership and control of a team comprising Sub Agents, Section Engineers, Site Engineers and Foremen
* Motivate, coach and develop your team, monitoring competencies and performance
* Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm and set targets aligned with project objectives
* Carry out Safety & Environment Tours and lead risk reviews, supporting a robust H&S management system
* Keep up to date with legislation and cascade key updates to your team
* Allocate resources effectively and arrange training as required
* Set and monitor quality targets and KPIs, overseeing audits and implementing improvement actions
* Manage handover documentation and self-certification of works
* Analyse and improve productivity, manage sub-contractor performance, and adapt programmes to site circumstances
* Produce cost plans, manage commercial risk schedules, and provide reports for weekly project meetings
* Support procurement processes and advise on commercial aspects
Required Skills
* Proven leadership skills, able to manage teams and cascade key messages effectively
* Strong work ethic and flexibility to work unsociable hours or nights as required
* Ability to make informed decisions and resolve issues with a solution-oriented approach
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
* Proficient IT and report writing skills
* In-depth understanding of H&S legislation and company systems
* Experience in resource allocation, reading technical drawings and design management
* Understanding of business management systems and quality handover requirements
* Ability to analyse and improve stage programmes and manage sub-contractor KPIs
* Experience in pavement reconstruction and surfacing operations
* Holds a current driving license and CSCS card, and is SMSTS qualified
