Job Overview – Trainee Pest Technician
As a Trainee Pest Technician, you will start your career in pest control with full training, mentoring, and support from our experienced team. You will learn how to inspect, identify, and manage pest issues across residential, commercial, and industrial properties, developing the technical and customer service skills needed to become a fully qualified Pest Control Technician. We are committed to investing in our people and their development. After successfully completing your probationary period, we will fund your RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management and provide all the relevant training for you to grow and build a long-term career in pest control.
Responsibilities (during training period you will be supported to)
* Assist in inspecting customer premises to identify pest issues and learn how to determine effective solutions.
* Learn to apply a variety of pest control methods safely and in line with legislation.
* Support the preparation of reports, treatment plans, and digital service records.
* Gain knowledge of pest biology, products, and industry standards.
* Provide excellent customer service, explaining treatments and offering advice under guidance.
* Maintain equipment and ensure safe storage of products.
* Follow health, safety, and compliance procedures at all times.
* Attend training courses and CPD activities to develop knowledge and skills.
Requirements
* A genuine interest in starting a career in pest control.
* Willingness to learn and complete industry qualifications (RSPH Level 2 funded after probation).
* Strong customer service and communication skills.
* Attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.
* Full UK Manual Driving Licence (max 6 points).
* Ability to work independently once trained, and as part of a team.
* Successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
