We are looking for an IT Engineer. Reporting to the IT Operations Manageryou will work within a small highly skilled IT engineering team to provide support for IT/Telephony systems within our company.You will have a wide scope of general IT infrastructure skills and experience in the pursuit of delivering a high standard of work to both the user communities and change projects.
This role demands excellent technical skills with the ability tosupport, maintain and operate systems. You will work as part of a team but with the ability to take responsibility and accountability forindependent work packages.There will be plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in projects and innovate whilst running all day to daysupport activities.
Key Responsibility Areas
* Provide 2nd line ITsupport on a day to day basis
* Some 1st Linesupport may also be required if 1st line engineer is busy
* Proven delivery of resolving 15 2nd line tickets + per day
* Be flexible for onsite installation work
* Support system changes and project workindependent to day to daysupport activities
* Out of hours installations & emergency site visits maybe required
* Ability to prioritise mission critical vs non-critical
* Overflow for 1st line IT calls
* Implementation planning
* Training junior members
* Technical escalations for Junior & Apprentice
Skills Qualifications and Knowledge Required
* 2+ years experience working in similar role
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users
* A natural passion for IT and technology, with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good problem-solving skills with an analytical approach
* Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
* Full UK Driving License with use of your own vehicle
* Good knowledge of Windows environments (Active Directory, GPO’s)
* Knowledge of virtualisation
* VOIP installations
* Firewall installations
* Moderate level on site fixes
* Thin Client installs
* Any site setup
