Emergency Department Assistant

We are pleased to offer an opportunity to join the Emergency Department at Prince Charles Hospital as a Band 3 Emergency Department Assistant.
The applicant should have experience in working within an emergency care environment.
Main duties of the job
This role offers clinical support to nursing and medical staff in the delivery of patient–focused care. The successful applicant will assist patient flow through the department.
Applicants should be enthusiastic and motivated in delivering high standards of care and maintaining a safe environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a large team are essential.
Welsh Skills Desirable
Welsh language skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above are desirable but not essential. This means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
Qualifications
* Knowledge of care and related procedures acquired through NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
* Phlebotomy and cannulation training/qualification.
Experience
* Clinical skills in plastering, wound care, cannulation & phlebotomy.
Communication
* Key skills in communication with patients from varied populations, multi‑disciplinary teams, and personnel from other departments.
* Ability to overcome communication challenges.
* Welsh language skills (Level 3 and above / B1) desirable.

Salary: £26,300 to £27,890 a year (pro rata).
