Quality Assurance Technician
Location: Andover, GB, SP11 8EZ
Responsibilities
* Ensure products manufactured are safe, legal and comply with customer quality standards.
* Ensure all food safety monitoring equipment is well maintained and calibrated to comply with legal and customer standard requirements.
* Ensure compliance with British Retail Consortium (BRC) and customer specific standards are met at all times.
* Work with the Production Team to establish and maintain procedures and standards.
* Complete regular quality reports.
* Conduct internal audits, including auditing products to ensure adherence to specification; swabs, micros, water tests, GMP audits, lockers, glass and plastic audits.
* Promote good manufacturing practices.
* Maintain calibrated monitoring equipment and retain calibration records.
* Assess finished products against quality attributes to ensure compliance with finished product specifications.
* Perform QA line checks on finished product to ensure labelling information and date coding are correct and meet legal requirements and shelf life.
* Immediately report any product or process found to be out of specification; control and document non-conformances according to company procedure.
* Assist in identifying root cause of non-conformity/complaints and implement corrective actions.
* Contribute to troubleshooting and problem solving within the factory.
* Ensure all related paperwork is completed and documented in accordance with company standards; legible, retained and retrievable.
* Assist in implementing company QMS process and procedures in the factory.
* Assist production in maintaining hygienic practices & procedures.
* Compile Product Manuals and labelling information for all products for effective launch.
* Assist in quality testing of raw materials, end products and packaging materials.
* Carry out cleaning verification and validation to support the EMP.
* Assist 2nd party auditing of suppliers.
* Assist in training new members in the QA team and production operators.
* Cover absences within the technical department to ensure business requirements are fully met.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
* Level 3 in food hygiene
* Level 2/3 in HACCP
* EMP knowledge
* QMS knowledge
* BRC food manufacturing awareness
* Bakery process knowledge
* Internal audit training
* Basic food law and regulations knowledge
* Food manufacturing background
* At least 2 years experience in a food manufacturing environment
* Degree level education
* Experience with QMS
* Experience in internal auditing
