Inspection Engineer Pay, Hours and Benefits
Annual salary: £35,200 - £38,300.
* 38 hours per week, days only with a half‑day finish on Fridays.

Role Overview
The Inspection Engineer performs inspections, checks, tests and sampling procedures of incoming materials, parts, components and finished items used in the manufacture of products. The primary responsibility is to acquire, process and report inspection data to ensure that the highest standards are applied at all times. The role supports all inspection operations, ensures compliance with company procedures, standards and regulations, and works closely with internal and external customers to achieve operational objectives.
Candidate Experience, Skills & Abilities
The role requires the candidate to be able to pass all UK security clearances. Nuclear industry experience is preferred, although other industry experience will be considered.
* Experience in all inspection functions, activities and quality engineering.
* Ability to read engineering drawings and quality plans.
* Working knowledge of measurement instruments such as micrometres, verniers, etc.
* Detailed inspection of a wide range of precision components and fabrications in accordance with engineering drawings and written specifications.
* Solid background of technical understanding, manufacturing methods and procedures.
* Promotion of process improvement.
* Knowledge of ISO 9001; knowledge of ASME PED is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)
* Perform inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies and finished products against defined criteria using standard mechanical, physical and/or electrical measurements.
* Coordinate inspection activities and support project inspection functions as required.
* Ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements throughout all inspection activities.
* Accept, rework or reject components and products based on inspection results.
* Accurately record and maintain inspection results, test data and controlled documentation.
* Support calibration, monitoring and maintenance of inspection equipment and test instrumentation.
* Contribute to the development, review and improvement of inspection procedures, protocols and checklists.
* Work with engineering and QA teams to identify issues, support root‑cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
