The role:
You will manage a complex suite of accounts payable ledgers, ensuring timely payment of invoices and expenses. You will enjoy a challenging environment, handling reconciliations and providing a service-led approach to a diverse professional services group. This environment is continuously improving, and you will lead change management and ongoing improvements within the team.
Joining us at an exciting time, you will lead the planning and implementation of a new Disbursement/Expenses system.

What you will be doing:
Responsible for the end-to-end AP process:
* Manage the creditors ledger proactively, minimizing aging and ensuring invoices, disbursements, payments, and expenses are processed promptly and accurately.
* Investigate AP issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
* Ensure correct coding for accurate financial analysis and reporting.
* Collaborate with the Financial Controller/Director of Finance to manage cash flow requirements.
* Oversee corporate card and employee expense processing, ensuring compliance with policies.
* Coordinate with auditors and support the statutory audit process.
Reconciliation and Reporting:
* Reconcile supplier statements accurately and timely.
* Resolve unknown vendor transactions reported on bank reconciliations.
* Prepare detailed month-end reports on AP performance metrics and ledger analysis.
* Enhance reporting and insights for month-end analysis.
Stakeholder/Vendor Management:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors.
* Manage vendor onboarding and ongoing monitoring, working closely with procurement.
Technology Utilisation/Continuous Improvement:
* Review and optimise processes, ensuring controls are in place.
* Work with the Head of Finance Operations on system delivery, acting as SME in AP systems.
* Develop and implement AP policies and procedures.
* Ensure comprehensive training and development for the AP team.
Management:
* Manage and develop the team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
* Provide real-time feedback and coaching.
* Align systems and policies with best practices.
Compliance and Risk Management:
* Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and embed them in policies and procedures.
What you will need:
* Leadership experience in a similar role, preferably in the legal sector.
* Experience with system implementation is advantageous.
* Knowledge of Aderant and P2P systems is desirable.
* Strong Excel skills for data manipulation and presentation.
* Proven ability to resolve queries and meet targets.
* Excellent stakeholder service skills.
* People management experience with leadership and influence skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
* Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
* Ability to identify issues or opportunities and implement improvements.
