Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Job Purpose
The Electrical Maintenance Engineer is Responsible for providing the right levels of direction and support for the Stowmarket Asset Management Processes. The role will concentrate on the effective preventative & proactive maintenance of plant and equipment, efficient execution of the maintenance plan and increasing Mean Times between Failure. They will drive Continuous Improvements in terms of Quality, Cost, Delivery, HSE and people development in a way that motivates the team to deliver best in class Maintenance with the highest degree of engagement. You will be the guardian of the cultural principles within the team. The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will also be responsible for small Capex Projects (<£k) and a project member of Site Projects if applicable.
Job Responsibilities
1. Facilitate the compilation of Standard Work Documentation for Technicians and Standard Work Isolation Procedures for plant and equipment.
2. Key team member for Asset Utilisation Management, Work Management, Maintenance Asset Tactics, Condition Monitoring audits & records.
3. Leads and involves the team in the development of new solutions and continuously liaises with maintenance technicians, production, central and project engineering, manufacturing and packaging teams to identify opportunities and ensure continuous improvement of plant and equipment.
4. Provides expert information of plant and equipment to technicians, contractors, operations, continuous improvement and equipment specialists.
5. Investigation of plant and equipment failures and incidents.
6. Ensures PUWER Compliance of all Electrical Control & Instrumentation Assets on the Stowmarket Site
7. Process owner of Electrical based Management System procedures to enable corporate and UK legislative compliance.
8. Ensures Safe Systems of Work are in place for all activities, including isolation of energy sources and the issue of Permit to Work.
9. Responsible for site High Voltage/Low Voltage supplies including Maintenance and Servicing requirements.
10. Provides technical guidance/expertise for technicians within production and engineering teams.
11. Forecast and plan future CAPEX requirements for plant and equipment. Involved in the evaluation of new project requests
Job Requirements
• Higher National Certificate, Higher National Diploma or Degree Level Qualification in Electrical Engineering Discipline.
• Extensive experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Safety systems and their architectures.
• Understanding of Industry standards (e.g. ATEX, S88, S95, Alarm Management).
• Knowledge of Regulatory requirements within the manufacturing industry.
• Understanding of CE and PUWER application.
• Familiar with hydraulic and pneumatic/electrical control systems design interpretation and maintenance.
