The role
We are currently Quality Assurance Project Engineer
You will be providing support to Power Plant Projects, Outages and Maintenance activities across the Flexible Energy North (FEN) UK asset fleet. Acting as the lead Quality Assurance for the project or outage, ensuring implementation of QA / QC processes in line with the quality minimum standards during project and outage work.
This role is key to ensuring that all project and outage works are delivered in line with defined Quality Assurance and Quality Control standards, meeting business objectives across safety, compliance, quality, cost, schedule, and technical performance. Acting as the lead Quality Assurance representative on site, you will work closely with project managers, plant teams, contractors, and OEMs to embed quality throughout the full project lifecycle.
The position offers the opportunity to play a hands‑on role in high‑profile, safety‑critical energy infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on governance, assurance, and continuous improvement.
Job Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
HNC, engineering degree, or equivalent engineering craft qualification
or a relevant Project Management or Quality Assurance qualificationProven experience operating as a Project Quality Engineer / QA Engineer within power generation, energy, or heavy industrial environmentsStrong working knowledge of ISO 9001 or equivalent Quality Management SystemsDemonstrated experience implementing and maintaining QA/QC processes across projects, outages, or maintenance activitiesAbility to act as the lead Quality Assurance contact for assigned projects or outagesExperience conducting quality audits, managing NCRs, and supporting root cause investigationsGood understanding of project delivery controls, including safety, time, cost, quality, technical performance, and complianceKnowledge of relevant UK regulations, industry standards, and HSSEQ requirementsConfidence in engaging with and constructively challenging stakeholders, including project managers, site teams, and suppliersStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive improvementExperience producing quality or project performance reports against agreed KPIsBroad understanding of industrial process plant operations and maintenanceDesirable:
Experience using continuous improvement or lean tools (e.g. APQP, Six Sigma, Kaizen)Previous involvement in power station outages or major capital projects
