What skills and experience we’re looking for
Role
A full‑time teacher of Physical Education and Dance is required to cover maternity leave. The post may also be a part‑time role, leading the BTEC Dance course at Level 2 and the BTEC Performing Arts course at Level 3 alongside core Physical Education lessons.
You will be required to act as a form tutor each day.
You will be versatile and confident, joining a strong, forward‑looking team within a highly reputable department, with opportunities to teach across the Key Stages and ability/skills ranges, including in particular BTEC Performing Arts Dance level 2 for year 10 and 11 groups, BTEC Performing Arts level 3 year 13, alongside a range of Key Stage 3 and 4 Physical Education lessons.
The department has a large examination commitment at Key Stages 4 and 5 and the ability to contribute to this is essential. There is also a strong element of after‑school enrichment through school clubs and fixtures which the successful candidate will be required to be a part of in this role.
Key responsibilities
* Teach BTEC Performing Arts Dance Level 2 for years 10 and 11 and Level 3 for year 13.
* Deliver core Physical Education lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4.
* Act as a form tutor, supporting the pastoral development of students.
* Contribute to the examination commitment at Key Stages 4 and 5.
* Participate in after‑school enrichment activities, school clubs and fixtures.
Qualifications and experience
* Excellent communication skills across all levels.
* Resourcefulness and team spirit.
* Proactive strategies for raising attainment.
* Willingness to contribute to the extra curriculum activities in the faculty and across the school.
* Applications from newly qualified or experienced teachers are equally welcome.
