Join our vibrant Supported Internship program in Birmingham!
As a full-time Tutor (37.5 hours/week), you'll be part of a supportive team dedicated to helping young people with learning disabilities, learning difficulties, and/or autism access the world of work. Mencap's Internships combine education and work experience to prepare our learners for employment. As a Tutor, you will focus on the delivery of the educational element of Supported Internships programmes.
What you'll do as a Tutor
* Inspire Young Minds: Create dynamic and engaging lessons that seamlessly integrate English and math into real-world employability skills.
* Develop Essential Life Skills: Equip learners with practical life skills to navigate their communities with confidence and independence.
* Think Outside the Box: Design innovative and fun lessons that spark curiosity and foster a love of learning.
* Collaborate for Success: Work closely with team members to provide holistic support and help learners secure paid employment.
* Deliver Accredited Qualifications: Teach accredited functional skills in English and Maths to prepare learners for future success.
* Enjoy Dedicated Planning Time: We'll provide you with a full day each week to focus on planning and administrative tasks so you can deliver the best possible support to your learners.

Key Skills and Requirements
Qualifications:
* A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS) is preferred. Candidates with a Level 3 qualification and willingness to undertake a Level 5 qualification post-probation will be considered.
* GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade 4/C or above.
Experience:
* Supporting individuals with learning disabilities, learning difficulties, and/or autism.
* Delivering functional skills in English and Maths up to Level 2.
* Working with diverse learners and managing classroom behaviour effectively.
Personal Qualities:
* Passionate about supporting young people with SEN.
* Creative, innovative, flexible, and positive attitude.
* Resilient and able to work under pressure.
Please Note:
* Interviews start w/c 7th July.
* Candidates must provide evidence of GCSE English and Maths qualifications and teaching qualification.
* Salary depends on qualifications and experience.
