It takes a special person to dedicate their career to helping children with Autism learn and develop. Your patience, empathy, and caring nature make you ideal to support our individuals at our school in Dan-Y-Coed. As a learning support assistant, you will provide educational and organizational support to the class teacher, guide pupils during structured and non-structured sessions, and assist each student to reach their full potential. Personal care to pupils, when needed, should be offered respectfully.
A typical day at Dan Y Coed involves:
* Providing high-quality teaching and learning opportunities using various approaches and activities to support pupils' progress towards their accreditation goals.
* Supporting teachers with planning, preparation, and assessment of learning activities.
* Assisting with planning and implementing off-site activities.
* Helping pupils during routines, lunch/break times, or with personal care as needed.
To be successful as a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll need:
* The ability to relate well to pupils and build positive, respectful relationships professionally;
* The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team;
* Initiative and proactive attitude;
* Ability to provide personal care respectfully;
Additional details:
* Qualification in English & Maths;
* Note: This role involves regulated activity with children and requires an enhanced DBS with barred list check.
