An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, experienced Band 7 senior Occupational therapist in our community team for adults with learning disabilities. We are looking for a professional with leadership skills and a passion to be part of the therapy service as a permanent employee. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivery of a highly specialist Occupational therapy service, demonstrating highly specialist expertise and specialist Occupational therapy skills. Responsibilities
* Independently manage a caseload of people with learning disabilities.
* Maintain a high standard of clinical work and offer a person-centred approach to client assessment and intervention by using appropriate treatment procedures and following established standards.
* Take part in or initiate appropriate quality measures, research or clinical studies that can improve the service and the experience of service users.
* Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, service users, carers, and other local services.
* Supervise student placements and other relevant trainees in the team and, where appropriate, supervise apprentices.
* Deliver formal and informal training to staff and carers and participate in regular team meetings.
* Be flexible with excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to reflect on own practice; show respect and compassion for people with learning disabilities, and their families.
Qualifications and Skills
* Band 7 senior Occupational Therapist with experience in learning disabilities.
* Leadership skills and a passion to be part of the therapy service as a permanent employee.
* Ability to plan, deliver and contribute to a highly specialist Occupational therapy service.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, service users, carers, and external services.
