We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our team at the Supported Living service we have a variation of contracted postswithin Wakefield and the surrounding areas

As a Support Worker in theSupported Living Serviceyou will be caring, adaptable and committed to making a positive difference to people's lives. We are looking for an individual who is willing to learn and able to work as part of a team, you will be joining a supportive team and training will be provided.

Due to the nature of the role, support workers are required to have a flexible approach to cover duty rota as necessary, a typical rota includes early shifts / late shifts and youmustbe willing to work evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays and sleep in enhancements are paid on top of the basic salary, additional hours/ overtime may also be available on top of the contacted hours!

Responsibilities:

* Supporting people with a learning disability in their own homes and enabling them to live as independent a life as possible.
* To work as part of a team or independently in a range of community settings
* Enabling and encouraging tenants to undertake daily living skills including cooking, and other household tasks.
* Providing practical, personal, and emotional support, including intimate personal care.
* Administering medications in line with the Directorate's policy and procedures.

Requirements:

* NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent is desirable (not essential)
* Willingness to achieve NVQ 3 in Care
* Previous experience working in care, both work and personal experience is relevant
* A can-do attitude with the ability to work as part of a team
