The Job Mission
This is a hybrid role; we’ll consider candidates living within commutable distance of Bridgwater (relocation assistance is available).
You will deliver configuration management oversight across multiple turnkey supplier contracts. You’ll ensure design and installation align with UK regulatory and quality standards. You’ll act as the technical interface between suppliers, design teams, and engineering leads.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Defining and implementing configuration surveillance plans per contract
* Coordinating oversight and surveillance activities across multiple suppliers
* Integrating different contract CM systems into a single configuration database
* Acting as primary liaison for Engineering Managers and Design Entities on CM issues
* Ensuring strict compliance with site licence, regulations, policies, and procedures
* Identifying and driving improvements to CM processes and workflows
* Maintaining accuracy of Configuration Registers and Applicable Document Lists
* Monitoring and controlling changes to redline drawings and documentation
* Escalating and resolving CM risks or nonconformances
* Supporting audits, reviews, and assessments related to configuration
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Strong experience in configuration management in engineering environments
* Degree in engineering or science (or equivalent technical background)
* Proven competency managing engineering documentation (work packs, redlines)
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Ability to analyse data, identify issues, and propose controls
* Organisational and coordination skills across multiple interfaces
* Confident in decision making and escalation of risks/issues
* Willingness to travel between office and project sites
✔️ Desired Skills and Qualifications
* Familiarity with HPC (Hinkley Point C) or nuclear project context
* Experience integrating multiple CM systems into one repository
* Knowledge of UK nuclear regulatory regime and site licence requirements
* Background in process improvement or lean techniques
* Understanding of digital tools for configuration management
