The Team Leader role will be based in one of our waste teams within the Combined Packaging Regimes department of Environmental Markets and Regulation. We’re a national team with officers based across England, ensuring a consistent regulatory approach.
As a department, we ensure companies dispose of their waste correctly by enforcing government regulations — ‘right waste, right place’.
You will be key to leading, managing, and supporting your team to fulfill their roles of delivering compliance and enforcement within your area. As a Team Leader, you will lead a team of Officers to deliver outcomes. Please note that these roles will be based in East Anglia.
Responding to incidents is a central part of our work. You will be required to have an incident response role and be available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. Full training and alternative working arrangements will be provided, and this role may attract additional payment.

The team, Environmental Markets and Regulation, is supportive and inclusive, promoting health, safety, wellbeing, and development. We aim to improve recycling quality and ensure waste entering or leaving the country is handled properly. We regulate industry to ensure compliance and eliminate illegal activities.
Key areas we regulate include Packaging Waste, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, Batteries, and International Waste Shipments.

The role involves working in a dispersed team within a hybrid model, including office and home working, with regular travel within your base area and for training/meetings.

Role-specific License Requirements
