EOTAS Mentor
Location: Guildford (GU8)
Hours: 16 hours per week
Contract: 48 weeks per year
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
Potential: Temporary to permanent opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a creative, flexible and relationship-focused mentor to support a 13-year-old autistic young person accessing an EOTAS package through their EHCP.
This is not a traditional teaching or tutoring role. Learning takes place through interests, life skills, community experiences and real-world activities. The successful mentor will build a trusting relationship and support learning in ways that feel meaningful, engaging and accessible.

* Understand autism and neuroaffirming practice
* Have awareness and understanding of health needs and the impact they can have on day-to-day life, wellbeing and engagement
* Be flexible, patient and relationship-focused
* Have a good sense of humour
* Be creative and able to think outside the box
* Understand trauma-informed approaches
* Be happy supporting learning through interests and experiences
* Be comfortable adapting plans as needed
* Enjoy spending time with young people and building genuine connections
Essential Requirements
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
* Non-smoker
* Comfortable around pets, particularly cats
* Able to work collaboratively with family and professionals
* Willing to complete a probationary period
Desirable Experience
* Understanding of autism, ADHD and PDA
* Awareness of physical and/or mental health conditions and their impact on daily life
* EOTAS, alternative provision or mentoring experience
* Community-based learning
* Life skills support
* Outdoor activities and nature
* Cooking and practical skills

This role would not suit someone with an authoritarian or compliance-based approach.
