The Trustees are looking to recruit to the post of Safeguarding and Pastoral Lead at Hawthorns School, Mottram in Longdendale. The role is full time equivalent with a salary range of £39,152 - £41,771 per annum (NJC scale points 28-31). The actual salary pro rata is £34,344 - £36,642 per annum. Working hours are 36 hours and 40 minutes per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, with term time plus 10 days.
Hawthorns School provides a specialist, high‑quality education for pupils aged 4‑11 with moderate learning difficulties, autistic spectrum condition and severe learning difficulties, supporting their social and emotional development. All children and young people have an Education Health and Care Plan.
The school is part of the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust (MAT), catering for 4 to 19 year‑olds with EHCPs across Oldham, Tameside and Rochdale.

Qualifications and Experience
* Written and verbal skills sufficient to meet the demands of the role.
* Leadership and management experience in a school or relevant organisation.
* Evidence of developing and implementing strategies to support children and families.
* Experience of working with children to overcome barriers to personal, social or learning development.
* Experience of supporting children or young people with SEMH, Autism or special educational needs.
All staff are employed by the MAT and are expected to work at any site within the New Bridge Group if required. The successful candidate must have a commitment to safeguarding young people and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and other pre‑employment checks. Proof of right to work in the UK is required.
