Overview
Health Care Support Worker - AMRU (Wards 50/51/53) in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. If you’re seeking the next step in your healthcare career, this role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, patient-centred care in an Acute Medicine Receiving Unit (68 bedded unit supporting a 24-72 hour patient journey).
Responsibilities
* Deliver high quality, patient-centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Work under supervision and report to a Registered Nurse.
* Communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals, both verbally and in writing, to uphold high standards and support our vision and values.
* Contribute to a positive, professional environment in a high-pressure setting, adapting to challenging situations as required.
* Support acute care delivery with essential clinical tasks as part of the team.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experience in a healthcare setting preferred, with acute care experience being advantageous.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills; caring attitude essential.
* Ability to work in a high pressure environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
* Essential requirements include venepuncture/cannulation, blood glucose recording, and wound care.
* Induction Standards & Code of Conduct: comply with the national "Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers 2009" and the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland; achieve mandatory induction standards during employment.
Shift Pattern
The post offers rotational shifts, seven days a week, including days and nights.
