Job Description:
Due to increased opportunities and demand in the Energy & Natural Resources division, the Energy & Natural Resources team are recruiting a Project Planner to join a diverse and supportive team during a period of significant growth. Our nuclear client is at the forefront of industry leading change, and we are keen to speak to individuals with project planning experience to see what Turner & Townsend can offer you. Candidates will be required to be present in our client office in Glasgow or Perth for 3 days per week.
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
A Planner will be responsible for work packages and projects of varying size and complexity. They will manage relationships between time, cost, risk, change, reporting and scope, creating and maintaining schedules that support management decisions. They will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsibilities include:
* Leading planning efforts, supporting junior professionals on high-value projects.
* Creating and maintaining project schedules aligned with project requirements.
* Adhering to NEC or FIDIC contract processes for schedule management.
* Developing status reports to inform management of progress.
* Overseeing day-to-day project management activities and implementing standards.
* Defining scope, updating schedules and cost information, and analyzing variances.
* Scheduling work, coordinating assignments, and evaluating schedule performance.
* Analyzing critical paths, float, and constraints, and recommending recovery actions.
* Monitoring project progress, consolidating schedules, and reporting KPIs.
* Understanding and reporting Earned Value Management (EVM).
* Managing planning personnel, mentoring, and coaching.
Qualifications
Candidates should have experience in Project Controls, Planning & Scheduling across the project lifecycle. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and other software is required. Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and risk decision-making skills are essential. Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance and membership in professional bodies like APM or PMI is preferred. Nuclear sector interest is a plus.
