This will involve pitch and gym based sessions assisting both the Head of Performance and the 1 st Team Sports Scientist in the physical preparation of the 1 st Team squad. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Play an active role in the daily management of the sports science and strength and conditioning programme for all 1 st team players. Work closely with the Head of Sports Science and the 1 st Team Sports Scientist to ensure consistent standards are upheld with the delivery of all pitch based and gym based physical preparation and conditioning sessions. Ensure all sports science and strength and conditioning services are consistently operating at best-practice standards. To assist all sports science and strength and conditioning testing, data collection, analysis and reporting. To assist the medical team as required with functional rehabilitation and return to play strategies. Assist with top up conditioning sessions for squad players on matchdays to ensure the maintenance of fitness levels. Assist with the delivery of nutritional support under the guidance of the club nutritionist. Ensure all nutrition & sports science consumables stock are maintained throughout the season. Assist with the management and support of MSc & BSc students during their placements at the club. Ensure all databases containing sports science and strength and conditioning data are maintained to a high standard. Ensure all daily, weekly, & monthly reports are produced to a high standard and disseminated to all appropriate staff within a timely manner. Liaise with academy staff to ensure smooth transition for players moving between training groups in the professional phase of the club. Fulfil any other reasonable roles requested by the Head of Sports Science or 1 st team management staff. Play an active role in the delivery of recovery sessions following games. Provide match day sports science support where required.
