Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Refuse Driver/Loader to join our waste management team. This role involves operating waste collection vehicles and assisting with the loading of refuse, ensuring efficient and safe collection services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, good mechanical understanding, and the ability to perform heavy lifting tasks throughout the working day.
Responsibilities
* Safely operate refuse collection vehicles along designated routes, adhering to traffic and safety regulations.
* Collect and load waste materials from residential or commercial sites into the vehicle using appropriate lifting techniques.
* Ensure all waste is collected efficiently while maintaining a high standard of safety and environmental compliance.
* Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
* Assist with the maintenance of collection equipment and vehicle cleanliness.
* Follow company policies regarding health and safety procedures at all times during operations.
Skills
* Mechanical knowledge to assist with basic vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance checks.
* Heavy lifting capability to handle waste containers or bags safely during collection activities.
* Good organisational skills to follow routes accurately and complete daily tasks efficiently.
* Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a professional attitude.
* Strong physical stamina and endurance for extended periods of walking, loading, and driving throughout the shift.Required experience:
* Waste disposal and recycling: 1 year
Required licence or certification:
* Minimum class 2

Cpc and Digi tacho card required
Working time will start from 4 to 4.30am
Fill in work sheets and follow the routes provided
Training of the rounds will be provided until you are comfortable.

Pay: £24,420.00-£38,080.33 per year
