As the Risk & Due Diligence Specialist, you’ll become the in-house expert on all matters relating to operative engagement risk. Sitting within the Compliance team, you’ll play a pivotal role in auditing the work of Compliance Officers, driving standards, and advising the Operations Manager on process improvement. Duties Procedures To assess, review, amend or write procedures for the company around compliance, and compliance legislation, ensuring that these are maintained and adhered to. To arrange training and workshops on the procedures that the role is responsible for. Process Improvement Evaluate and improve operational processes to increase efficiency, accuracy and automation Drive the adoption and integration of technology Compliance and Risk Management Uphold and enhance compliance processes to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory alignment Learning and continuously expanding knowledge of HMRC & CIS legislation Frequent internal audits (not limited to) Settled Status VAT & UTR checks due diligence – Clients & Sub Contractors Limited Company DD Checks Contract renewals for workers and clients Ensuring all new clients (and historical clients) have the correct documents on file and are set up on the system correctly. Monitor the Limited Company process for the company Monitor the Overpayments process for the company Auditing To audit the work of the compliance officers, constructing an evaluation system which allows the individuals to be assessed against the high standards set by the Risk and Due Diligence Specialist. To be able to perform to the standards set as a compliance officer, ensuring that you are able to adhere to your own procedures Reporting and MI To produce weekly and monthly reporting MI to the Operations Manager and Operations director including commentary and suggested action Collaborate with the Operations Director to support reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision-making Experience and qualification Previous experience working in compliance and risk management. Qualifications/skills: Good level of knowledge and skills in general IT Systems, including, Microsoft Word and Excel. 1. Deep, ready-made knowledge of risk and compliance in the self-employed/contractor market 2. Proven experience working with relevant legislation and compliance frameworks 3. Ability to lead through expertise—no formal line management, but you must be comfortable setting standards and holding others accountable 4. Strong auditing and quality control skills 5. Confident communicator able to engage with internal stakeholders and clients as required 6. Analytical mind-set with the ability to spot patterns, assess risk, and offer practical solutions 7.
