Care Assistant for a young boy P/T £13.09/hr in Blyth - FTE - £25.5k Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: e64c82a7 To provide support for an 11-year-old boy with a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Support Worker to enable the child to access age-appropriate leisure activities in the local community. The support may also on occasion take place at the family home where he loves to play on Xbox on Formula 1 and other racing games, he also races his remote-control cars as well as playing with his trains. You will be required to administer medicine 3 times per day, and as the child is nil by mouth for food, water and medicines these are given via his Gastronomy tube for which full training will be provided. Supporting with his splints/shoes which need to be put on, helping with his posture in seating to ensure it is correct and essential use of the hoist. Additional Duties: · You will be required to anticipate the child’s needs, as he has limited verbal communication. · Provide social stimulation and progressive levels of activity. · Assist the child to build relationships with peers within his wider community. · Personal care, including changing continence pads Hours: 8 hours per fortnight on Saturday. Additional 10 hours per week during all school holiday weeks, flexibility around which days of the week this support takes place. Rate of pay: £13.09 per hour. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year, pro-rata Out of pocket expenses will be met by the employer.
