The role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join our Finance department on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this maternity cover role, you will be an experienced finance professional, confidently helping to deliver monthly management accounts, cashflow, billing, and intercompany accounts for our Middle East office.
This is a part-time role. The proposed working pattern will be 24 hours per week, working approximately 8am - 12:30pm each day, to accommodate Dubai working hours.
You will play a part in ensuring financial controls are adhered to by maintaining balance sheet reconciliations and will be prepared to address queries from internal and external stakeholders (including Partners, auditors, and Group Finance). As a key player in a small team, you will take on ad hoc tasks to ensure team cover.
This role is an essential part of Middle East LLP Finance. It offers an opportunity to work with a friendly, high-performing team split between Dubai and the UK. This is a UK-based role, reporting to the Regional Finance Manager (UK based) and maintaining close contact with our Middle East COO (Dubai based).
What will you do:
1. Deliver month-end close for Middle East entities, including posting journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
2. Prepare the monthly cash flow forecast.
3. Conduct periodical intercompany reconciliation and settlement.
4. Maintain bank reconciliations & COFA logs.
5. Serve as a nominated billing contact for Middle East partners.
6. Provide team cover for other Finance team tasks.
7. Support the Regional Finance Manager with audits and ad hoc tasks.
8. Identify and act on opportunities to improve processes.
9. Support the Middle East business and mentor junior team members.
What we are looking for:
Essential:
* Qualified accountant (professional qualification).
* Experience working within a finance team.
* Experience with ERP systems.
* Strong understanding of financial reporting and controls.
* Experience liaising with external auditors.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills in English.
Desirable:
* Experience in partnership accounting or law firms.
* Experience working in or with the Middle East.
* Financial accounting skills.
* Experience with AX or 3E ERP systems.
* Knowledge of Arabic language.
* Commercial mindset.
