We're on the lookout for a Rural Surveying Lead to take the reins in Shrewsbury. This is an opportunity to shape, grow and champion a rural offering in a region full of potential.
Job Role and Responsibilities
* Become the go‑to brain for all things rural surveying in the office
* Advise landowners, investors and institutions on how to make their land work smarter (and harder)
* Get involved in tenancy matters – FBTs, AHA tenancies and everything in between
* Spot opportunities before they become obvious and turn them into business wins
* Deliver high‑quality client work alongside the team
* Mentor others and help grow the next generation of rural experts
* Keep one eye on compliance and the other on emerging policy and legislation
* Ensure the team runs efficiently, profitably and without unnecessary chaos
* Build a strong presence across Shropshire and beyond
* Grow networks with landowners, developers and key players in the rural space
* Use contacts and credibility to open and keep doors open
* Shape and evolve service offerings – this isn't a “follow the template” role
* Represent the business out in the wild (events, networking, industry circles)
Location
Shrewsbury – travelling to rural clients within the area is included.
Salary Guideline
£55,000 – £75,000 basic salary depending on skills and experience. Mileage paid + discretionary bonus.
Qualifications
* MRICS qualified (or equivalent) with solid rural experience
* A natural leader who people want to follow
* Commercially sharp – understands both land and numbers
* Deep knowledge of rural property, agriculture and sustainability
* Proven ability to grow a team, client base or reputation – ideally all three
* Strong relationship‑builder with a knack for winning trust
* Calm under pressure and adaptable when circumstances shift
* Tech and social media aware – even rural surveying needs a LinkedIn presence
* Full UK driving licence – the job is not location‑restricted
