Role: PowerBI Specialist Position: Contract Location: Somerset Innovation Centre, Bridgwater, Somerset Days on Site: 3 Duration: Until Dec 31 st 2026 Pay: £277pd (PAYE) to £376.50 (UMBRELLA) The Role The role of the Quality Project Management Office function is to provide independent and measured insight into the performance and forecast of the HPC Project, to support timely management intervention and decision making by considering all relevant cross-project information. It is also focuses on working closely with the project teams and continuous improvement workstreams to identify root causes and understand key drivers of performance issues and support with developing and implementing improvement plans. Within the Quality Project Management Office, this role is responsible for the Quality PowerBi reporting to ensure the 'Drumbeat' Reporting is adhered to whilst supporting Quality area reporting (Quality Delivery Managers etc). The Quality PowerBi specialist is responsible for transforming large, complex datasets into presentable dashboards and reports for business decision-making. You will work closely with various stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that meet them. Principal Accountabilities Team: Development and the production of weekly, monthly and quarterly analysis reports, through the provision of intelligent information and analysis. Collaborate with IT and data engineering team to optimise data sources and infrastructure for reporting needs. Stakeholder collaboration work closely with business leaders and department heads to understand reporting needs and delivery actionable insights. Data Management and Performance Measurement: Responsible for ensuring that all data within their area of work is reliable, accurate, validated and representative of Project progress, to facilitate decisions by others. Develop Key performance indicator and metrics, to track business performance and identify trends or anomalies. Provide regular and ad hoc analysis to support strategic planning and operational efficiency. Analyse report data to identify and resolve any issues with data integrity. Core Processes: Responsible for developing input into Quality performance analysis reports, ensuring that all Project information is clearly and accurately represented. Work with project teams to understand performance variances and work with continuous improvement team to put in place improvement action plans. Ensure that all analysis is accurate, consistent, validated, representative of Project status, and focused on the appropriate stakeholder group. Review existing reports to monitor compliance with standards and procedures and make any necessary improvements. Adhere to Project governance and Integrated, Information Management Reporting standards and procedures. Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Essential Experience & Skills: Essential: Excellent working knowledge of data visualisation and analysis tools, applications and techniques, including the capability of business intelligence analytics tools such as Microsoft PowerBi; Strong understanding of Data transformation and Data modelling techniques; Knowledge of PowerBi services to share and distribute reports; Prior DevOps experience; Train end-users on how to use the dashboards and reports effectively; Stay updated with the latest Power BI features, updates, and best practices; Report Requirements Gathering; Backlog Creation and Management ; Understanding of databases, including tables, relationships and schemas; Clear and organised approach to problem solving with emphasis on delivery focus and milestone achievement; Lead the understanding, interpret, analyse, manipulate and present complex data from all Quality Reporting Disciplines; Skill in using communication techniques in complex project environments; Exceptional skills in using Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access); High level of analytical and numerical skills; Good attention to detail; Ability to build relationships both internally and externally; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to deal with team members at all levels. Desirable: Ability to act on behalf of the Quality Project Management Office Team as their representative; Prior Experience in Quality Monitoring; Visio and PowerApps. Qualifications Essential: Minimum of a degree in a numerate subject, or HND or equivalent qualification with recognised experience commensurate with a degree; Substantial experience in data visualisation and analysis techniques; Knowledge of ETL processes and data modelling; Familiarity with other data visualization tools. Desirable: Relevant experience in a similar analysis role; Training in project management methodology, such as PMQ or PRINCE2. Proven relevant experience in a Project Management or Project Controls environment on at least 1 major, complex project; Experience in the use of industry-standard software; Are you ready to be part of a project that's reshaping the energy landscape of the UK?
