We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Fire door Inspector - mobile to join our Greater London Mobile Solutions Maintenance Engineering team. The mobile team in London supports reactive and PPM maintenance activities across all the sites we currently operate ranging from schools and hospitals to major Government buildings across Greater London and the South East.
The role:
1. Reporting to the Passive Fire Service Manager
2. To expand the passive fire services provided by Mobile Solutions
3. To assist the Service Manager to compile passive fire surveys and related works and compile reports on findings
4. To manage installations and repairs and ensure the quality of work delivered complies with BM Trada guidelines and relevant industry standards.
5. To provide an advisory service for clients on relevant and fire related matters.
6. To work closely with the Quality & Assurance department to ensure compliance.
7. To work with the Service Manager to organise and deliver fire door training to other employees across the business.
8. Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend working and working away
The person:
9. Good knowledge and understanding of fire doors installation and maintenance
10. Understanding of Passive and active fire systems specifically fire door inspections and compartmentalisation firestopping; good understanding of the BMTRADA Q Mark Scheme
11. Must hold a minimum NVQ level II carpentry or joinery qualification (or equivalent)
12. Understanding of passive fire legislation
13. IT Literate with good Word and Excel
14. Excellent customer service and communication skills
15. Demonstrate good planning, organising and prioritising skills
16. Ability to show examples of using initiative and judgement to resolve problems
17. Hold a full driving license and able to travel
