The role
About the Role
The Youth Education Service is working with an Alternative Provision school in Liverpool, supporting primary-aged pupils with SEN, SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, and additional learning difficulties.
We are looking for a Primary SEN Teacher to start in September.
This is a 10-12 week temp-to-perm role, with the successful teacher paid from their current scale point from day one, plus SEN 1 allowance.
You will be teaching primary-aged pupils in a structured and supportive Alternative Provision setting, delivering engaging lessons that are adapted to individual needs.
This role would suit a Primary Teacher with SEN experience, strong behaviour management, or a genuine interest in moving into Alternative Provision.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging primary lessons.
* Adapt teaching to meet individual pupil needs.
* Support pupils with SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and additional learning difficulties.
* Create a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.
* Use positive behaviour management strategies to support pupil engagement.
* Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and senior leaders.
* Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
* Maintain safeguarding and professional standards at all times.
What We're Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status or relevant teaching qualification.
* Primary teaching experience.
* SEN, SEMH, or Alternative Provision experience is desirable.
* Calm, resilient, and nurturing approach.
* Strong behaviour management skills.
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Commitment to safeguarding children and young people.

All applicants will be subject to enhanced DBS, reference, and compliance checks.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable, but not essential, as support can be provided with the application process.
