Overview
The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Specialty Doctor in the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery. The post will be based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and will commence as soon as possible. This appointment is a full-time post on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract with the opportunity to extend to permanent.
Responsibilities
* Service commitment, particularly performing dento-alveolar surgery and working in the Outpatient Department at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and in peripheral clinics in the market towns around Leicestershire.
* Agree the timetable with the post holder to reflect the demands of the service; work flexibly as required.
* Teaching of junior staff, nurses or students; contribute to departmental education and training.
* Encourage and develop a special clinical interest.
Qualifications
* Full GDC registration.
Departmental Context
The Maxillofacial Department undertakes the full range of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery services in Leicestershire, with a focus on Head and Neck Oncology, Oral and Facial Reconstruction, Facial Deformity, Facial Trauma and Salivary Gland Disease. The service is centralised at Leicester Royal Infirmary, which provides theatres and an outpatient department for clinical staff.
