We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our Maintenance team at Hindlow. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and installation of plant machinery, equipment and site services, helping to ensure safe, efficient and continuous production operations. This is a varied, hands-on role for someone with strong mechanical skills and a proactive approach. Working Hours & Rota This role operates on a rotating shift pattern: Early shift: 6:00am 2:00pm Late shift: 2:00pm 10:00pm Weekend working forms part of the rota and is typically on the late-shift rotation, with working hours of: 6:00am 2:00pm or 8:00am 4:00pm Weekend work is approximately 1 in 4 weekends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.) Carry out mechanical maintenance, repair and installation of machines, tools and equipment. Support maintenance of site utility systems including heat, gas and air. Inspect operating machinery to ensure compliance with operational and safety standards. Review job orders and determine work priorities. Maintain accurate inspection and maintenance records in line with legal and site requirements. Generate reports to support smooth operational continuity. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities. Assist in developing improved maintenance methods and cost-effective solutions. Maintain site Health & Safety and environmental standards. Liaise with engineering, quality and management teams to resolve maintenance issues. Assist with training and development of colleagues where required. What Were Looking For Proven experience in a mechanical maintenance or fitter role (ideally 34 years or equivalent). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals and safety documentation. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Good organisational and planning ability. Confident using Microsoft Office and relevant maintenance systems. A reliable, proactive team player with a professional approach. Physical & Work Environment This is a physically active role involving standing, walking, climbing and manual handling, including lifting up to approximately 12kg. You will work in an environment with exposure to machinery, noise, heat, fumes and varying environmental conditions.
