We're seeking a talented
Acoustic Research Engineer
to join a world-class research and development team driving the future of immersive audio technology for AR/VR applications. This role offers the chance to work in a brand-new, state-of-the-art audio lab featuring anechoic chambers and one of the world's largest configurable acoustic rooms.
You'll be working on cutting-edge projects aimed at making virtual sounds indistinguishable from reality and advancing human hearing to improve communication in challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop systems, user interfaces, and protocols for acoustic and behavioral data acquisition and processing using
Python, MATLAB, and MaxMSP
.
* Collaborate with cross-disciplinary researchers to integrate data acquisition and processing algorithms into platforms.
* Conduct acoustic data collection involving complex capture systems, prototype devices, and human subjects in controlled lab environments.
* Produce technical reports documenting methodologies and research outcomes.
Minimum Requirements
* Master's degree in a relevant technical field with 3+ years' industry experience in audio technology development (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
* Strong track record in designing and performing
audio/acoustic experiments
in controlled environments.
* 3+ years' programming experience in
Python, MATLAB, or MaxMSP
for audio applications.
* Solid understanding of
acoustics and audio signal processing
.
Preferred Qualifications
* Expertise in real-time audio coding (C/C++).
* Knowledge of
psychoacoustics, auditory perception, spatial audio, room acoustics, and physical acoustics
.
* Experience with
PyTorch or other machine learning frameworks
, prototype hardware devices, motion tracking systems, or automated data collection.
* Background in designing and setting up acoustic labs.
* Strong record of technical publications or high-quality reporting.
