Job summary
The specialised Health visiting team for Infant Mental Health is dedicated to supporting infants and their primary caregivers, including parents, foster carers, grandparents, and others assuming this role, during the crucial period of the infants first two years of life. The team offers direct support for parent-infant relationships and addresses the social, emotional, and mental health needs of infants. Services operate from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, within Hampshire.
The team commits to delivering sensitive, responsive, and appropriate care that is essential for healthy infant development. Their primary goal is to assist caregivers in addressing social, emotional, and mental health challenges, enhancing parenting skills, and fostering strong parent-infant relationships. Services are provided through home visits and at alternative venues such as clinical or community settings across Hampshire.
Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will deliver sensitive, responsive, and appropriate care vital for healthy infant development. They will support caregivers in addressing social, emotional, and mental health challenges, improve parenting skills, and strengthen parent-infant bonds. Services are provided through home visits and at various community venues across Hampshire. The role involves inter-professional collaboration with the public health visiting service, implementing the Healthy Child Programme for infants and families during the first five years of life, and working with interdisciplinary teams to support family-centred care.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse/Midwife
* Qualification as SCPHN (Health Visiting)
* Evidence of recent professional and personal development
* Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car with business insurance
* Early Years experience/qualification
* Nurse prescriber
* Ongoing learning and professional development
Experience
* Knowledge of the Healthy Child Programme and Early Years High Impact Areas
* Experience delivering the Healthy Child Programme as a health visitor
* Research awareness and evidence-based practice understanding
* Knowledge of current government health policies
* Understanding of Public Health and Health Promotion
* Knowledge of clinical governance, CQC standards, and clinical supervision
* Understanding of health inequalities and their impact
* Experience leading/managing skill mix teams within the NHS
* Knowledge of Child Development
* Experience collaborating with other agencies
* Experience in health promotion roles
* Time management and diary management skills
* Mentoring experience for students
* Additional training/experience in early years practice
