Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for automation, innovation, and continuous improvement? We’re looking for a hands-on Engineering Project Manager to work in our workshop, driving engineering excellence and leading transformational projects in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
About The Role
In this key role, you'll provide expert engineering support to our production teams, lead automation initiatives, and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, safety, and quality. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and play a pivotal role in shaping our future engineering strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical support and engineering expertise to all production departments.
* Lead automation and obsolescence projects aligned with site strategy.
* Develop and implement process improvements in collaboration with Operations and Engineering teams.
* Champion continuous improvement initiatives in areas such as proactive maintenance, efficiency, and automation.
* Manage operational projects adhering to SAPM standards and timelines.
* Ensure all equipment complies with health, safety, and food safety legislation.
* Manage contractors on site, ensuring safe and efficient work execution.
* Coach, mentor, and develop team members across departments.
* Promote a culture of innovation, external benchmarking, and commercial thinking.
* Prepare and present CapEx investment cases to senior stakeholders and procurement.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and safety within your area.
* Be available on call once every four weeks.
What We’re Looking For
* Time-served mechanical or electrical engineer (or equivalent qualification).
* Proven experience leading engineering or automation projects.
* Background in food manufacturing or FMCG environments.
* Strong track record of delivering project plans, KPIs, and schedules.
* Understanding of food safety and health & safety requirements.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiar with CMMS systems.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
* Expected qualifications: HNC/HND or FD.
