We seek an enthusiastic and caring Nursery Practitioner, to cover lunches and act in ratio during this time. King’s Ely Acremont Nursery (KEAN) benefits from being a bright and spacious setting in the grounds of a beautiful period property in the centre of Ely.
The successful candidate should have a thorough knowledge of the EYFS, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. The KEAN team are caring, friendly and enthusiastic team players and focus on delivering the highest possible standards of childcare.
KEAN is managed by the Head of Early Years who is a member of the Leadership Team of King’s Ely Acremont. King’s Ely is a thriving day, boarding and choir school for over 1000 children between the ages of 2 and 18. This is an exciting opportunity for suitable candidates to join the school’s team.
 * To assist colleagues with the effective delivery of the EYFS curriculum, ensuring that the individual needs and interests of children are met.
 * To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communications with parents to facilitate exceptional day‑to‑day caring and early learning needs.
 * To help ensure the team provide a high quality and caring environment.
 * To maintain the highest possible standards of safeguarding in line with policies and protocols.
 * To be flexible and innovative within the working practices of KEAN.
 * To read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to the role.
 * To maintain appropriate confidentiality.
 * To ensure the highest standards of health and safety are upheld.
 * To undertake a share of duties, including the preparation of snacks and the regular cleaning of equipment.
 * Attend staff meetings and admission events, scheduled outside of nursery hours.
Hours
Monday – Friday 12 noon – 3pm

Remuneration and Hours
 * Monday - Friday 12noon - 3pm
 * Start Date: January 2026
 * Salary: competitive depending and qualifications and experience
Terms and Conditions
 * Enrolment in the statutory auto‑enrolment pension scheme. The employer and employee contribution rates for the auto‑enrolment pension scheme are currently: Employee contribution 5% and Employer contribution 3%.
 * Annual Leave: 33 days' paid holiday per annum, including Bank and Public holidays (3 days of which must be taken during a whole school shutdown at Christmas).
 * Members of staff may educate their own children in any of the three parts of the school or at Fairstead House, subject to availability of places and successful admissions procedures. Staff currently enjoy a discretionary discount on fees for children in Reception year onwards, details of which will be provided upon request.
 * The School offers a private healthcare insurance scheme, which staff may opt to join, at their expense, shortly after the start of each academic year (the policy starts on 1st November each year). The scheme can only be joined at the start of the policy year, not part‑way through the year.
 * School lunch provided when at work over lunch time and tea and coffee throughout the day.
 * Limited use of school gym facilities (during specific times) and use of the school swimming pool at specific times (during summer school holidays – small fee applies)
 * Limited free on‑site parking.
