Are you a Registered Nurse seeking a rewarding specialist role with real impact? This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated Bladder and Bowel Specialist Service, supporting children and young people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly who experience bladder and/or bowel dysfunction.
You’ll work as part of a small, supportive team providing high-quality, evidence-based assessment, treatment and ongoing management. The role combines clinical expertise with the opportunity to educate and empower families, carers and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.
We welcome applications from Registered Children’s Nurses or Registered Nurses/SCPHN with community paediatric experience and knowledge of bladder and bowel care. You’ll bring strong communication, teaching and organisational skills, along with a commitment to teamwork and continuous service development.

Main duties of the job
You’ll provide specialist clinical assessment and treatment for children and young people with bladder and bowel dysfunction, working in partnership with families and professionals across community and acute settings.
A key part of your role will be to act as a clinical resource and educator, sharing your expertise with colleagues to support high standards of care. You will contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives, helping the team to remain innovative, evidence-based and patient focused.
This is a busy and varied role requiring effective time management, excellent communication and sound clinical judgement. You’ll be expected to work independently, prioritising caseloads and collaborating with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure care is well coordinated and timely.

Education and Qualifications and Relevant Experience
* Current NMC registration
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Teaching qualification
* Specialist knowledge across a range of procedures
Knowledge and Abilities
* Substantial post‑registered (RN) experience
* Experience of community/multi‑agency multidisciplinary working
* Proven teaching skills
* Experience within a children’s and young people care acute / community setting
Skills and Aptitude
* Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
* Ability to cope under pressure
* Current issues in continence care
