Role Overview:
A Finance, Tax and Compliance Officer is required to join our client, a friendly, inclusive and close-knit Wealth Management firm. The successful candidate will support a varied portfolio of private clients and businesses, managing a mix of accounting, tax, and compliance responsibilities. The role suits a proactive, detail-oriented individual who is confident working independently and engaging directly with clients, with a strong grounding in tax accounting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain sales, purchase and cashbook ledgers
• Conduct income and expenditure analysis
• Prepare statutory accounts
• Manage corporation tax and personal tax matters
• Handle compliance-related activities
• Complete Making Tax Digital (MTD) quarterly returns
• Liaise directly with HMRC on behalf of clients
Essential Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an office-based environment
• Strong experience in tax accounting and compliance
• Strong working knowledge of Xero accounting software
• Experience with statutory accounts and corporation tax software
• Good Excel skills (including linking, formulas, and formatting)
• Experience managing client-facing relationships
Desirable:
• Professional accounting qualification (not essential)
