Nailsea School is seeking a school cleaner to join our amazing cleaning team.
15 Hours per week (17:00-20:00) term time, plus 3 INSET days, with an additional two weeks of deep cleaning over the summer holiday period.
Grade 16, (Point 2) salary £24,413 pro rata.
Actual starting salary £8,388 per annum.
You will work within a larger, friendly and supportive cleaning team to ensure our children have a safe and clean environment to learn within.
The role will involve cleaning and tidying of classrooms, communal areas and toilets, removal of waste and ensuring that the environment is fit for both pupils and staff. You will be supported by an experienced team of staff and will play an important role in the life of our school.
Main responsibilities of the position are:
1. To work flexibly as part of a team
2. Cleaning and tidying of allocated areas within the school, covering for others if required
3. Vacuuming, and mopping of hard and soft floors
4. Operating cleaning machinery (training provided)
5. Cleaning surfaces, wiping furniture, ledges, piped, paintwork, doors, polishing doors glass

Hours will be 15 hours a week, covering Monday to Friday, between 5pm and 8pm during term time, although some flexibility on working times may be required on occasion to fulfil the role and meet the needs of the school. The two week school deep clean takes place in the summer holiday, and is paid as overtime.
No previous experience is required, although there is an expectation that all members of the cleaning team will achieve health and safety training. A uniform will be provided, along with any necessary training.
