Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for a Band 7 Menopause Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our gynaecology team, supporting and developing menopause services across both Princess Royal and Royal Shrewsbury NHS Trusts.
Responsibilities
You will be an experienced RGN capable of leading and assessing the work of the nursing team, drawing upon your own clinical and managerial experience. Your role will include:
* Developing and implementing menopause clinics.
* Providing autonomous, unsupervised care for menopause patients on an out‑patient basis, including one‑to‑one and group sessions.
* Conducting patient assessments and delivering a variety of nurse‑led clinics focused on a holistic approach to menopause care.
* Managing patients with menopausal symptoms.
* Potentially facilitating menopause and menstrual health group sessions.
Assessment, management, relevant clinical procedures, planning and evaluation of menopause care will be central to your duties.
Qualifications & Experience
Knowledge, training and experience required include:
* Work as an autonomous practitioner, unsupervised with the ability to manage patient care.
* Engagement in all training delivery methods made available, which include self‑directed and formal courses of study, shadowing of experienced clinical specialists, supervised practice, and competency assessment.
Throughout training, you will provide care that offers a holistic service to women, delivers education for patients in preventative healthcare, and ensures all statutory and mandatory training is complete and up to date.
Patient care will be delivered through pre‑planned staff clinics within a SaTH, balancing training and support with direct service delivery, reducing the training component and increasing time in independent service delivery.
