We have a variety of Consultant roles including posts in the City and in localities bordering the Peak District and South Dales, in specialties such as urgent care/crisis services, Eating Disorders, and generic Community CAMHS.

The service has recently developed an enhanced workforce to support its medical structure, including specialty doctors, more trainees, 3 Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners (2 qualifying in Jan '25), and an Approved Clinician.
The Trust has also expanded the Psychological Therapies Division, further strengthening its trauma-informed approach. We support flexible working and have adapted our hybrid working policy accordingly.
This post offers a 30% RRP based on the bottom of the National Consultant (2003) pay scale, paid as a golden hello over 2 years.
Main duties of the job
South Derbyshire CAMHS covers Derby City, Amber Valley, Erewash, South Derbyshire & Ashbourne with 5 bases in Derby City, Long Eaton, Ripley, Rivermead, and Swadlincote.

* Providing psychiatric assessments, including risk assessments.
* Managing patients under the CAMHS Crisis and Liaison pathway, including risk management.
* Collaborating with community teams, families, and agencies supporting children and young people in crisis.
* Ensuring appropriate use of the Mental Health Act, providing recommendations for assessments in the community and 136 Suites, and participating in MHA assessments during on-call duties.
* Supporting colleagues in T4 CPA discharge reviews to minimize inpatient stay and enhance community care packages for CYP.

This is a newly established full-time substantive Consultant Post, serving as a clinical lead within the new CAMHS Acute Care Team, which includes former RISE Liaison and nurse-led Enhanced Home Support Service teams, expanded to include Crisis/Home Treatment and Day Services.

* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
* Fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice at the time of application.
